The staff was all very personable with each of the residents. The care giving staff did a great job with caring for the residents. There was a lot of turnover on the management team, which complicated things especially when we were asking questions. My aunt enjoyed both the food and the activities here.
Community amenities
I don't think this community was a good fit for my mom. Her needs exceeded what they were able to offer to her. I for people who are fully functional and ambulatory this is a good option. We chose this community because it was very homey and small.

She's not completely happy, of course, because she wants to be home but she understands that's not possible right now. For the most part, they're taking good care of her. The staff seems to be nice, my friend says they are very nice to her. I've had dealings with them too because I go and visit sometimes and they all seem to be helpful. She says that the meals are good although sometimes they're not that great. They have activities but she doesn't participate in them, unfortunately.

It is not recommended for people who have dementia. We've had issues just with the medication mostly. They are very attentive, and they do the best they can, but my mom has dementia, and Whittier is not a memory care facility.
